8th Grade Course Selection

In January, every 8th grade student picks their classes for their freshman year of high school. Ms. Behr is your point person for any questions you have or information you might need! PLEASE be sure you/your child are a member of the 2028 School Counseling Google Classroom because that is where important information is published.

 

Please view the resources below for any information. You will see the Course Selection Presentation that each student viewed in their science class in January, the High School Course Selection Night presentation, a copy of the 9th Grade Course Selection Sheet, and the high school's 2024-2025 Course Selection Guide. 

 

At this point (in mid April), all students have selected their course requests and they have been submitted to Sapphire. You/your child are able to view these requests in Sapphire. At the end of the month, each student will get a tentative "schedule" released in Sapphire- just with the classes they got, without any teacher names or room numbers. In June, final copies of schedules will be released on Sapphire. At the beginning of August, the high school counselors will have set dates and times for walk-in schedule changes. These slots fill up quickly, so be aware and flexible. The high school counselors are happy to help with anything you may need. There will also be a 9th grade/new student orientation in August before school starts where you/your child can come in and walk their schedule.
