For Mr. David Wright, the 2023-24 school year is his 27^th year as an educator, his 17^th as an administrator. Mr. Wright served as an assistant principal and principal in Dauphin and Lebanon counties, both as a middle school and high school principal, before returning to East Pennsboro as middle school principal to begin the 2021-22 academic year.

Mr. Wright grew up in the city of Philadelphia, the son of a Philadelphia Police Officer, and graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in English. He later earned his Master’s Degree at California University of Pennsylvania. He is also a veteran of the US Navy.

With a year of substitute teaching on his resume, Mr. Wright spent nine years serving the East Pennsboro community as a high school English teacher from 1998 through 2006, followed by a year as the EPAHS Dean of Students. He then spent six years as an assistant principal and principal in the Central Dauphin School District, four years as principal at Annville-Cleona, and four years as principal of Dauphin County Technical School, before returning home to EP.

Mr. Wright is married to Greta, and they have two great kids. Tanner is a Junior at Millersville University, participating in ROTC and serving in the PA National Guard. Quinn is a Sophomore at Halifax High School where she is recognized as an outstanding student and musician. In his spare time, Mr. Wright enjoys playing golf (poorly), reading, following his beloved Philadelphia sports, and planning his next trip to the beach.

The 2023-24 school year will be filled with challenges and opportunities for students, staff, and families to grow and learn together.  The challenges of the past few years are beginning to recede into the rear-view mirror, and the Panthers of East Pennsboro Area Middle School are poised to move forward in a big way.

Mr. Kyle Atkinson is going into his 10^th year as an educator and 3^rd year as assistant principal of East Pennsboro Area Middle School for the 2023-24 school year. Mr. Atkinson spent his previous six years teaching at East Pennsboro Elementary School as well as various years coaching girls’ basketball, middle school track & field, and middle school cross country.

Mr. Atkinson earned his elementary teaching degree from Lock Haven University and then his Master’s Degree from Wilkes University. He is married with two daughters, ages 4 and 2. Most of his time away from school is spent with his family and finding exciting activities for his children to explore. He also follows sports closely and enjoys bowling and golfing when he has a chance. 

The 2023-24 school year will be an exciting year as students continue to have opportunities to learn and grow. Staff and family members will continue to work together as the students learn new concepts and overcome challenges. Everyone should look to the future with optimism as we all play a role in every student’s life and successful future.
